Vermont Hiking Vacation

Trip cost:
for 2 to 3 people is $100 per person/per day. Singles, and larger groups need to be priced separately. This includes working with you to get inn reservations, providing you with an itinerary and maps for each day's hike, transporting your luggage, and shuttling you to/from trailheads and other places, when needed.

You pay for lodging and meals as you go, and will need to secure your reservations with each inn, once they have been made, using your credit card or a check.

So, for example, a trip for 2 people for 4 nights would cost about $1,600 ($800 for the tour and $800 for lodging & meals) plus any costs for lunches, etc. Pick ups and drop offs at the Burlington, VT airport or train stations nearby, if required, are $30 extra per group.

If you would like more information on this package, just click on the I'm Interested button on this page and fill out a short request form. Your request will be sent to the matching package provider and they will contact you.

Hike through trails and forest roads in the Green Mountain National Forest of western Vermont, and nearby on quiet lanes and byways in the Mad River, White River, and Champlain Valleys from one inn to the next. You cover 8-12 miles a day through ridge-and-valley terrain. Stays are at small inns and B&Bs, most of which are tucked in quiet, scenic spots.

We get you the inn reservations, provide you with an itinerary, and maps for each day's hike. You pay for lodging and meals as you go, and hike on your own only carrying a small pack, while your luggage is transported to the next inn, never having to drive!

Just to name a few of the highlights you'll visit are secluded Silver Lake, Rattlesnake Point with it's spectacular Champlain Valley view, Robert Frost's summer cabin, fabulous waterfalls, a section of Vermont's Long Trail. There are many options available to choose from depending on ability and conditions of the terrain at the time.

Each night's stay is at great little inns and B&Bs, such as the Churchill House Inn near Brandon, Blueberry Hill Inn in Goshen; the Waybury Inn in East Middlebury; the West Hill House B&B in Warren; and Mary's at Baldwin Creek or The Crystal Palace B&B in Bristol. Dinner is usually at the inn you will be staying at or a local restaurant. The order of the itinerary will depend on availability of the inns at the time you want to come, so no two trips are entirely alike.
